KUALA LUMPUR: BlackPink continues to make history on YouTube.

Soompi reported yesterday that the K-pop queens' management YG Entertainment said in a social media statement that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa had surpassed 90 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel on July 17 at 5.36am (South Korean time).

This is a record achieved in seven years and a month since their channel's launch in June 2016.

In July 2020, the girl group became the first non-English language artiste to be listed in the top five in terms of YouTube subscribers.

And in September 2021, BlackPink was ranked as the artiste with the most subscribers on YouTube worldwide.

BlackPink, who surpassed 80 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel in September last year, added another 10 million subscribers in less than a year, setting a new record by reaching the milestone for the first time in YouTube history.
